Overview
The Steering Committee for Science and Technology was constituted with membership at the level of
Directors-General, Permanent Secretaries or officials of equivalent rank, two representing each of the
five geographic regions of Africa.
The Steering Committee oversees the development and
implementation of programme activities, including the formulation of the business plans. It will be
responsible for reviewing the progress of implementation of the 'Consolidated Plan of Action' [French version].
African country representation from 2005 - 2007:
Eastern Africa: Madagascar, Rwanda
Central Africa: Congo
Western Africa: Ghana, Ivory Coast
Northern Africa: Algeria, Tunisia
Southern Africa: Mozambique, Malawi
