The African Ministerial Council on Science and Technology (AMCOST) was established in November 2003 under the auspices of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the African Union (AU). It is a high-level platform for developing policies and setting priorities on science, technology and innovation for African development. AMCOST provides political and policy leadership for the implementation of Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA).

ANDI Call for Centres of Excellence in Health Innovation in Africa
African institutions are invited to apply for recognition as a Centre of Excellence, with the opportunity to become future ANDI centres for health innovation and further capacity development in Africa. These centres will be expected to participate in the implementation of ANDI projects which will be linked to capacity building as well as stimulation of intra-African collaboration and networking. Applications should be submitted electronically on or before 15 August 2010.

AIMS is now accepting proposals for courses to form part of the AIMS Postgraduate Diploma Programme commencing September 2010.

AIMS Postgraduate Dipoma in the Mathematical Sciences 2010/11
Applications for the AIMS Postgraduate Diploma in the Mathematical Sciences starting in September 2010 are now open. The course is open to Africans who hold (or anticipate completing by the start date of the AIMS course), a 4 year university degree in mathematics, or any science or engineering subject with a significant mathematics component. An applicant's record should demonstrate a strong mathematical aptitude.
